SBR is an approach that is not only used in the Netherlands. Australia and New Zealand have worked in accordance with the SBR method for many years. A growing number of countries are interested in the Dutch SBR approach and are exploring the possibilities of adopting the principles.
For example, Denmark, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Turkey and Poland have asked the Netherlands for advice about how society-wide advantages can be achieved through the standardisation of information, processes and technology. We do, of course, provide these countries with advice because we would like to encourage reporting using SBR. The Netherlands is seen as a pioneer and plays a leading role within XBRL Europe.
